D-Panthenol is a plant based vital nutrient derived from Pantothenic acid, also known as vitamin B5. It is used in healing creams. Panthenol improves and increases skin moisturising effect making dry skin softer and more elastic. With an anti-inflammatory effect it soothes irritated skin and it helps to heal minor wounds, like a nick shaving or when skin grazes or blisters Very popular in hair care products. D-Panthenol is a clear liquid, containing a minimum of 75% (R)-Panthenol in water stabilized with 1% D-pantolactone. Common names are D-Panthenol 75 / Provitamin B5 / Pantothenol / D-pantothenyl alcohol and INCI Name is Panthenol. This product origin is UK.

This shampoo is made to a Ph of 4.6 to 4.9. This is a compromise between keratin PH ~3.67 and skin surface pH that is on average 4.7, i.e. below 5.

95% of hair is keratin, a fibrous, helix shaped protein with ~3.67PH.

Rinse with water after use, but understand the ph of hair is ~3.67, skin is around ~5 and water is ~7. After washing we like to apply our Aloe vera gel to hair as it brings the ph back down and lightly styles and soft after drying.

No added colourings.

Active Material substance (ams) 14.81%: At this level with these ingredients make it a very mild product.

To use: Shake, wash hair or body or add one to three caps full to the Bath.
Rinse well with water after use. As with all Shampoos, Soap and Bath products, keep out of eyes and do not take internally. Although, personally I have put in my eyes and eaten some without a problem we don't advice anyone to do so.

We have cut right back on preservatives, and use natural ones as much as possible. Using a preservative system allows us to use smaller amounts, still ensuring fungus, mould and bacteria do not grow. Anyone saying they do not use preservatives is doing you a disservice, as water and oil will grow fungus within a week without them.

Kobashi has never used SLS, but the fact is there is not a problem with SLS. The SLS scare was created by companies who want a competitive edge.

Please note: We don't approve of deforestation. Oil palms yield more oil per acre than other crops, so the hype to avoid palm oil is only that, hype. Everything we as humans do will have an environmental consequence. Use the most efficient product per acr

Phenoxyethanol is an organic compound that is in our Creams, Lotions, Soap, Shampoo and Bath Products at ~ 0 .3%.

These can come from natural organic sources, but they usually are synthetic. I would say Creams, Lotions, are 99.1% natural origin. You could say the Shampoo and Bath are 99.1% natural. The process for making most shampoo and soap on earth is not 100% natural, although this could be argued.

When we did our formulations, Phenoxyethanol was the preservative that all Organically grown associations accepted, until 2012.

We have been using these preservatives for over 21 years without a problem. Our choice of preservative after much careful research, as it was last tested on animal's pre 1975. Although animal testing is done all over the world, and we do not agree with it. As committed Vegans this and is of importance to us.

Phenoxyethanol is an alternative to formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.
In Japan and the EU, its concentration in cosmetics is restricted to 1%. Kobashi uses 2/3 less than that used by the strictest countries.

Many of the companies that took preservatives out are having bacteria, mould and fungus problems. Even the so called natural preservatives won't give protection for that long.

This preservative is very good against bacteria, mould and fungus.

1.) Benzyl alcohol is produced naturally by many plants and is commonly found in fruits and teas. It is also found in a variety of essential oils including jasmine, hyacinth, and ylang-ylang. Use in health care: Benzyl alcohol is used as a bacteriostatic preservative at low concentration in intravenous medications, cosmetics and topical drugs.

The use of benzyl alcohol as a 5% solution has been approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of head lice in children older than 6 months and in adults.

2.) Potassium sorbate is the potassium salt of sorbic acid, chemical formula CH3CH=CH-CH=CH-CO2K. It is a white salt that is very soluble in water (58.2% at 20 °C). It is primarily used as a food preservative (E number 202).[4] Potassium sorbate is effective in a variety of applications including food, wine, and personal care products. While sorbic acid is naturally occurring in some berries, virtually all of the world's production of sorbic acid, from which potassium sorbate is derived, is manufactured synthetically.

3.) Tocopherols (TCP) are a class of organic chemical compounds (more precisely, various methylated phenols), many of which have vitamin E activity.

4.) Phenoxyethanol is an organic compound.
Natural occurrences: Phenol is a normal metabolic product, excreted in quantities up to 40 mg/L in human urine. Occurrence in whisky: Phenol is a measurable component in the aroma and taste of the distinctive Islay Scotch whisky, generally ~30 ppm, but it can be over 160ppm in the malted barley used to produce whisky. This amount is different and presumably higher than the amount in the distillate.
